piano jam 3

“piano jam 3”–As I prepare to travel to Costa Rica for work, I needed to put my mind at ease and have some “down” time before I went back into my matrix of work.
You would think that this would be more needed at the END of my trip.  However, since I know exactly what I’m going in to, being a little more prepared, mentally, was exactly what I needed.  The simple cadence that developed helped me focus and relax.  I could have gone for another 30 minutes with this song.
I pictured someone falling asleep to this cadence…which would be one of the greatest compliments I could ever receive.  I hope you can get some sleep from this song…

piano jam 2

“piano jam 2”–As I began playing, randomly…I started to watch the reflection of my hands in the keyboard lid…The music you’re hearing is only coming from a slight trance I put myself in, watching my hands and fingers…I never realized what my fingers and hands actually did while playing. I was so intrigued that I just kept playing whatever came through the reflection! With the music and watching the reflection, I felt very calm and content…I hope that it may do the same for you!

piano jam 1

“piano jam 1”–This track is the first of the video series.  I simply turned on the camera and started to play.  I had no idea where I would go with the song.  In fact, I’m not really sure that it’s really a complete song…I just kept going with a soft, mellow theme to help unwind my thoughts.
This song is meant to go nowhere and to take someone on their own personal journey, if only for about 10 minutes.  Sometimes that’s all we need after a long, stressful day.

Morning Mist Waltz Feb 2nd

This piece was compose while rehearsing with Victor and Anastasia, who are currently the 3rd place world professional open ballroom champions. I was rehearsing with them at the City Lights Ball in San Jose, California…They wanted to dance waltz as part of their show, while I played live piano. During the rehearsal they decided that they really wanted to have me play for their tango encore. However, the melody I developed while rehearsing stayed in my head throughout the weekend. So, I decided that it was worth putting down on video to ensure the melody didn’t get lost. This is it, and in it’s most raw form…This song has even yet to be recorded and produced. I’m looking forward to putting this song to arrangement and seeing where it might take me. Please enjoy!!!
